AN 18-year-old man was left with facial injuries after being punched in a road rage incident, police have said.
They are appealing for witnesses after the driver of a silver estate car got out of his vehicle at the traffic lights on the Elvington Lane and Hull Road junction, in York, at about 4.40pm on November 4.
He then verbally and physically assaulted the young driver of a black Vauxhall Corsa who was left with a facial injury which requires continuing medical treatment.
The man is described as being in his mid-forties, of medium build and bald with greying hair at the sides.
PC Graham Marshall said: “If you witnessed this assault taking place, or can help to identify the man responsible, I urge you to come forward as you may have vital information that could help my enquiries.
“I am also keen to speak to the driver of the silver car, so that I can understand the circumstances surrounding the incident, and ask them to contact me as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should contact York Police on 101, using option two, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
