A WOMAN had to be rescued from the River Foss in York this morning (Sunday) when she entered the water.
Police, paramedics and the fire service were all called to the scene near Venice House, on Eboracum Way, at 1.20am to reports of two women in the water.
Police believe the woman had argued with her boyfriend before going into the water, where she was found unconscious by fire crews after another woman - said to be her boyfriend's mother - had attempted her own rescue.
An ambulance took both to York Hospital for a check-up, but they did not suffer serious injuries in the incident.
And in a separate incident, a man leapt into the River Ouse from the balcony of the Pitcher and Piano, on Coney Street, at 6.20pm on Saturday.
He swam to the other side and hid from officers in the park around the Park Inn area.
