POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was left with serious injuries following a collision with a lorry near Selby, North Yorkshire.
It happened at around 8.45am yesterday (Saturday, September 27), on a roundabout at the junction of the M62 and A19, near Eggborough.
The collision involved a heavy goods vehicle with a white cab and a white and blue trailer and a pedal cycle.
The 49-year-old local man riding the bicycle suffered serious leg injuries and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary by air ambulance, where he currently remains.
The HGV driver was not injured.
Traffic Sergeant Neale Rees said: “If you witnessed the collision or saw either of the vehicles involved just prior to the incident, I urge you to come forward and contact the police straight away.”
