DIRECTORS of a company which helps adults with learning difficulties are facing fraud charges.
Yvonne Britton, 66, of Yarm Road, in Darlington, was at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates Court today (Wednesday, August 27) to face six charges of fraud by abuse of position as an employee and director of Darlington Supported Housing.
The charges relate to a total of £57,657.40 which Mrs Britton is alleged to have taken by fraud between August 22, 2011 and June 15 2012.
She also faces another charge of theft of £900 dating from July 3, 2010 in Darlington.
Her son Seymour Britton, 47, of Yarm Road, in Darlington, has also been charged and he appeared alongside his mother at court.
He faces a charge of fraud by abuse of position as an employee and director of the housing group.
Neither of the accused entered pleas and they were granted unconditional bail to appear at Teesside Crown Court on Wednesday, September 10.
