A CYCLIST has died following a collision with a car.
The man, who is in his 40s and from North Tyneside, was seriously injured in a crash with a Ford Fiesta, which happened on the A6079 near Chollerton, Northumberland, on Saturday.
The incident happened at about 3.05pm, around three quarters of a mile west of the junction with the A68.
The man was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary suffering from head injuries but nothing could be done and he died on Saturday night.
The driver of the Ford Fiesta was uninjured.
The road was closed for around three hours while the collision was investigated. Police are now appealing for witnesses.
