A RACE day will benefit the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

The football-themed event will be held at Newcastle Race Course on Friday, August 15 – the eve of the new Premier League season.

Proceeds will be split between the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation cancer charity and the Foundation of Light, Sunderland AFC’s official charity.

The day will include Premier admission to the Gosforth Park Suite, a three-course lunch, race card, buffet dinner and post-race entertainment.

BBC Radio Newcastle’s Total Sport phone-in show will broadcast live from the event, with presenter Simon Pryde, ex-Sunderland captain Gary Bennett and former Magpies defender John Anderson.

Pauline Buglass, from the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, said: “This is a fantastic way to kick off the new season.

“A great opportunity for red and white and black and white supporters to come together and predict what’s in store for them.”

Tickets are priced £85 per person, or £825 for a table of ten. To book, call 0191-551-5153 or email: events@foundationoflight.co.uk
