A REVIEW hearing prior to an inquest into the death of a solicitor who died from stab wounds to the chest while jogging took place today (Tuesday, July 15).
Father-of-two Peter Maine died while jogging in the Maiden Castle area of Durham City on September 1, last year.
Police initially launched a murder-style investigation, but at a review into Mr Maine’s inquest held in January, Detective Chief Inspector Steve Chapman said the wounds may have been self-inflicted.
At the Coroners Court in Crook this morning (Tuesday, July 15), County Durham Coroner Andrew Tweddle said he was expecting to receive important police files relating to Mr Maine’s death on or before Monday, August 11.
A further review has been scheduled for Tuesday, September 30.
