AN aggressive outburst by a drunken man who had no recollection of racially abusing a teenager was filmed on a mobile phone.
Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court heard today (Wednesday, June 25) that Jamie Bethell was captured on camera as he swore and insulted the teenage girl on a Darlington street in November.
Prosecutor Ann Darwin said the 52-second footage showed 23-year-old Bethell standing close to the girl and telling her he would show her how hard he was.

He also told her to ‘go back to her own country’ during the tirade on West Auckland Road.
Mrs Darwin said Bethell later told police he had been drinking lager and vodka and could not remember the incident, but he admitted a charge of racially aggravated harassment.
Magistrates were told that Bethell, of Jedburgh Drive, Darlington, was already serving a 12-month supervision order with a six-month alcohol programme imposed in May.
He was also given a two-year conditional discharge for a previous offence.
Mitigating, Michael Clarke said Bethell had attended every probation appointment so far and had already reduced his drinking.
Magistrates imposed a new nine-month alcohol requirement to run alongside his existing sentence and told Bethell to pay a £60 victim surcharge.
