The 18-year-old from, Crook, County Durham, was working in Knaresborough when the incident happened yesterday (June 2) morning.

The driver had been allowed to drive through the roadworks as he told the work crew he was picking up a child from Conyngham Hall.
But when he tried to make the return trip, one of the workers told him he couldn’t as the road was closed. The driver said he did not want to take the diversion route and set off - and then hit the teenager.
The injured man was taken to Harrogate District Hospital with a suspected broken leg and has since been discharged.
The driver of the vehicle was aged in his 60s. He was driving a dark green Isuzu with a hard top over the load bay and the registration plate possibly began with YT52.
