AN OUTDOOR museum’s Georgian Fair begins tomorrow (Thursday, May 29).

The annual attraction at Beamish Museum, near Stanley, County Durham, runs until Sunday (June 1), with a fire eater, silhouette cutter, Punch and Judy show, flea circus and more.

The Squire of Pockerley will stage a Hiring Fair, with the winners receiving God’s Penny to spend at the fair, a quack doctor will be doing his rounds, birds of prey will be on display and visitors can try on Georgian costumes.

At the weekend, a group of Wellington’s Redcoats in period military uniforms will make camp at Pockerley Old Hall.

The fair begins at 11am each day. Usual museum entry fees apply. For further details, visit beamish.org.uk
