A LORRY driver has appeared in court charged with causing the death of a 24-year-old cyclist by careless driving.
Father-of-three Anthony Winter, from Darlington, was killed in a road accident on the A68, near Burtree Gate, on the outskirts of the town, on January 9.
Today (May 15), Kevin David Young, 50, appeared before magistrates in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, charged with causing his death by driving a Renault lorry without due care and attention.
Mr Young, of Hoyland Road, Hoyland, Barnsley, South Yorkshire, indicated a not guilty plea.
The case was committed to Teesside Crown Court on Wednesday, June 5.
Mr Young received unconditional bail.
