GRAEME STORM sits two shots off the lead at the Spanish Open after a positive start.
The Hartlepool golfer carded a 71 in the opening round in Girona and would have been even better placed had he not dropped a shot at the par four 17th.
Storm made birdie at the first, 13th and 15th to lead at one stage but his bogeys at 11 and 17 saw him drop out of the top ten going in to Friday's second round.
Ashington's Kenneth Ferrie is identically placed after picking up another shot at the 17th with a birdie.
