A WOMAN has been airlifted to hospital after suffering serious injuries while cycling in the Yorkshire Dales.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service called for the doctor-led trauma team of the Great North Air Ambulance (GNNA) after the 55-year-old lfell from her bicycle at Tan Hill, near Arkengarthdale yesterday (Monday, May 5) at 3.50pm.
She suffered head and facial injuries and was taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, for specialised treatment.
A GNNA spokesman said the woman had been wearing a cycle helmet and was stable upon arrival at t he hospital.
