DARLINGTON mayor Charles Johnson and mayoress Carol Johnson will welcome members of the National Council of Women to the mayor’s parlour on Friday, May 9, at 11am.
The mayor and mayoress will then attend a cocktail party and Beating of the Retreat ceremony, held by the Durham Light Infantry, at Durham Cathedral, at 7pm on the same day.
BIKE MARKING: Darlington police held a successful bike security marking event, at Abbey Road School, on Wednesday (April 3). A total of 60 bikes were marked. Officers have thanked those who participated.
FLOWER CLUB: Darlington Flower Club will meet on Wednesday (May 7), at 2pm, in St Cuthbert’s Church Centre, Market Place. Area demonstrator Judith Clancy from Newcastle will give a demonstration entitled ‘All Shapes and Sizes’. For more information about the club, call Christina Steel, on 01325-374732.
