A BABY cafe will celebrate its first birthday with a party for families on Monday (April 28).
The cafe based at Willington One Point Children’s Centre offers mothers the chance to get health and social advice as well as mingling with other families.
One Point staff from Durham County Council and County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust staff have worked closely with parents’ charity NCT to provide countywide Baby Café sessions for the past year.
The initiative was funded by Public Health County Durham and Darlington.
Sarah Fairclough, One Point senior family worker said: “Our Baby Café offers a relaxed welcoming atmosphere, especially for breastfeeding mothers.
“It has done really well over the last year and we want to celebrate its success with a birthday celebration to thank those who have regularly attended and to encourage more mums to come along too.”
