SOME of the world’s leading martial artists ran a training day at a County Durham club.

Newton Aycliffe Ju Jitsu Club hosted an international seminar at the town’s leisure centre yesterday afternoon. (Saturday April 19)

Instructors from across the world including Alan Campbell, an Australian national coach, and Stefani Mancini, from Italy, led workshops and intensive training sessions.

Organiser Trevor Forsyth has ran a ju-jitsu class at Greenfield Community College, in Newton Aycliffe, for 12 years.

He said it was a real achievement to attract the duo- both recently awarded the title of Grand Master by the Japanese- to the event.
