GEOLOGIST and natural historian John Burgess will lead a rocky ramble, taking in some steep and muddy paths around a city’s streets and surrounding area, on Sunday (March 30).

The three-and-a-half mile Geological Walk in Durham City starts outside Clayport Library, in Millennium Place, at 2pm, and is expected to take up to three hours to complete.

There is a £4 charge per walker.

CHURCH WELCOME: A coffee morning takes place at Christ the King Church, in Bede Terrace, Bowburn, near Durham, on Saturday (March 29), from 10 - 11am.

It includes cakes and preserves for sale plus tea, coffee and other refreshments. Admission is free, with proceeds going to church funds.
