PUPILS have been praised by a poet for their work based on WWI.
John Challis spent time with 13 students at Bishop Barrington School, in Bishop Auckland, helping them produce poetry and artwork to accompany paintings and a collage already completed.
The visit was part of a project called Articulate which combined English and art.
The work will now feature in an exhibition at the Laing Art Gallery, in Newcastle next month.
