YOUNGSTERS in Shildon are being urged to join a police cadet scheme to gain new skills and a possible job.
The Durham Agency Against Crime is recruiting youngsters to its Durham Volunteer Cadet Scheme.
Applicants must be aged between 13 and 18-years and they will take part in various activities including team building, physical fitness and assisting at public events.
Durham county councillor Trish Pemberton, who covers Shildon, said: “This will provide them with more skills in a competitive world as they look to find employment.”
To apply for the cadet force applicants must live in either Darlington or County Durham. They must also have been resident in the UK for the last three years.
