A COMEDIAN who regularly sells out 10,000-seat arenas has agreed to play at one of the region’s smallest theatres.
Tickets for Alan Carr’s warm-up gig at the 140-seat Saltburn Theatre, home of Saltburn Brass Neck Comedy Club, have sold out, with no publicity needed.
Alan Carr, who has his own TV show, Chatty Man, handpicked the seaside town for two gigs on Sunday and Monday, February 16 and 17.
Tickets for both shows sold out within minutes of going onsale on Saturday morning as word quickly got around the town.
Carmel Ramsay of Brass Neck Comedy said: “This is going to be an incredible couple of nights, and we’re obviously chuffed to bits that Alan has hand-picked Saltburn for these exclusive shows.
“He usually plays 10,000 seat arenas, so this is an amazing chance to see him in a gorgeous old theatre right here on our own doorsteps.
“It’s great news that some of the biggest names in comedy trust our audience enough to come and play with their new ideas, and it’s great news for the town as a whole.
“We obviously could have sold the gig more than ten times over, so some people are bound to be disappointed at missing out. But the town has two nights that will live long in the memory, that’s for sure.”
