A GUEST house in North Yorkshire has been named the second best B&B in the world, as North Yorkshire secures several positions in a global travellers’ awards.

The TripAdvisor 2014 Travellers’ Choice awards honour the world’s top hotels, B&Bs, inns and other holiday accommodation.

All Seasons Guest House, in Filey, North Yorkshire was placed second in a list of the world’s best Bed and Breakfast accommodation. The first place was awarded to another UK B&B, Bindon Bottom, based in a village in Dorset.

Yorkshire also has cause for celebration with two other bed and breakfast businesses awarded a top ten ranking.

Saxon Villa in Robin Hoods Bay was placed fourth while Millgate Bed & Breakfast in Masham ranked ninth.

The small Yorkshire Dales bed and breakfast, run by Susan and Andrew Burrell, is situated in a former jail and poor house and housed the town’s fire engine for 200 years. In last year’s Tripadvisor awards it was voted 23 out of 25 similar establishments in Europe.

Rockcliffe Hall, in Hurworth-on-Tees was ranked with the UK’s top ten luxury hotels.

In 2013 only 14 UK businesses made the world’s best lists, but this year 26 of the country’s properties received a place.

The awards are now in their twelfth year and award winners are chosen on the base of reviews and opinions of millions of travellers through TripAdvisor.
