TRAINS running on the East Coast Main Line have been delayed, after a lorry got stuck under a low bridge.
The incident happened on Cleveland Street, on Albert Hill Industrial Estate, in Darlington, shortly after 10am this morning (Friday, November 15).
Delays of 20 minutes resulted, as trains were stopped while the safety of the bridge structure was verified.
A spokeswoman for Network Rail said trains are currently running as normal.
The vehicle, which is carrying non-hazardous material, is still in place.
Network Rail said further delays to train services would be likely later in the day, when the lorry is moved.
Watch manager Richie Cowling, from Darlington, said the incident was straight-forward, there was no fire and no one was injured.
