A TEENAGE girl has died after being knocked down by a car.
A Nissan Micra collided with 15-year-old Hannah Ferguson on John Reid Road in South Shields, Souith Tyneside, near the crematorium, at 11.55pm on Friday.
Hannah, from South Shields, suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to South Tyneside General Hospital but died later.
Police have spoken to the driver but no arrests have been made as it is not thought any offences have been committed.
Investigating officers are appealing for witnesses to contact them with information.
