MYSTERY surrounds a stone memorial found on wasteland next to an industrial estate.
A walker discovered the pink marble-look cube yesterday morning (Friday, October 11) at the Greenfield’s Industrial Estate in Bishop Auckland.
The finder, who did not wish to be identified, said: “I was walking along when I saw it in amongst some rubble.
“It seemed very odd and I think it might possibly have been stolen and dumped there, I can’t think of any other explanation for it.”
The stone is inscribed with a message, which says: “Miss ya lots and lots like all the pink jelly tots MARTINE & MICHAEL HENRY xxx.”
It has now been handed in at Bishop Auckland Police Station.
