Author Alexander McCall Smith signing copies of his latest book
A BEST-SELLING author whose work has been adapted for television and radio has held a book signing at a Thirsk bookshop.
Alexander McCall Smith spent this afternoon (Friday) at White Rose Books, Thirsk, to sign copies of his new book, The Minor Adjustment Beauty Salon.
The author is best known for his The Number One Ladies’ Detective Agency series, which has sold 20 million books worldwide and has been adapted for BBC R4 Afternoon Drama.
For many years a professor of medical law at universities in the UK and overseas, Alexander McCall Smith’ books are translated into 40 languages.
His other series of books include The Sunday Philosophy Club, Corduroy Mansions and has written more than thirty children’s books.
