WATER companies will be under the spotlight at a public meeting.

The Consumer Council for Water’s Northern Committee is to hold a meeting at the Radisson Blu Hotel, in Durham City, on Thursday, October 17, at 10am.

The watchdog will be discussing its recent annual complaints report with senior water company bosses.

Complaints across England and Wales fell for a fifth consecutive year, according to the report, with United Utilities, Northumbrian Water and Hartlepool Water all receiving fewer.

Yorkshire Water received more complaints than during the previous year.

Members of the public are invited to attend and raise issues during a “listening session” at the start of the meeting.
