Man suffers burnt limbs in accident at Scarborough car wash

POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after a man suffered severe burns in an industrial accident in Scarborough.

The 39-year-old suffered serious burns to his arms and legs in the incident at Dunslow Road Car Wash, on Dunslow Road, Eastfield, at about 5.40pm on August 31.

It is believed that staff at the site were burning waste at the time.

The man was airlifted to Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Investigations remain ongoing at the scene of the incident and the Health and Safety Executive has been informed.

Anyone with information is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
