GUESTS at a 500-year-old hotel will be asked to solve the murder of one of its ghosts in aid of charity.

The Murder Mystery evening at The Manor House Hotel in West Auckland, near Bishop Auckland, will focus on solving the death of Elizabeth Granville, whose ghost is said to haunt the 16th Century built hotel’s dining room.

The event is being held to raise money for the Butterwick Hospice in Bishop Auckland.

Lynn Albury from the hospice on Woodhouse Lane said: “The theme of the night is the haunting, the room in which people will be having dinner is allegedly haunted by the ghost of Elizabeth Granville.

“We hope guests will join us, help interrogate suspects linked with the murder of Elizabeth and avenge her death.”

The event will be held on Friday, August 16, with tickets costing £15 each including a pie and pea supper.

Butterwick Hospice at Bishop Auckland would like to invite you to their forthcoming Murder Mystery Evening on Friday 16th August at the Manor House Hotel, West Auckland.
