EMERGENCY services were called the Etherley Dene area of Bishop Auckland after a garage had its doors blown off by a gas explosion.
Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene at 4.20pm today.
One of the garage walls was in a dangerous position following an explosion of butane gas inside the building.
Fire fighters worked with a council structural engineer to shore up the wall.
