A predatory paedophile who snatched a six-year-old from her bath and raped her will hear his sentence today.
Peter Voisey sneaked in through the back door, plucked the girl from her bath, and drove away with her, stopping twice to carry out separate serious sexual assaults, before dumping her naked in a freezing back lane near her North Tyneside home.
Following his conviction at Newcastle Crown Court last month for abduction, rape and sexual assault, Judge David Hodson warned Voisey: "You must expect to receive a sentence either of life imprisonment or an indefinite sentence for public protection."
After his conviction, a review was announced into how the 35-year-old was monitored following his release from a two-year jail sentence imposed for an indecent assault on an equally vulnerable 12-year-old at a swimming pool in Macclesfield, Cheshire, in 2001.
Voisey, also known as Smith, of Blyth, Northumberland, was the subject of Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements following his release from prison for the Macclesfield offence.
