SEVEN volunteers who have spent a total of 80 years caring for the Yorkshire Dales National Park have been honoured.
A presentation was made by national park authority member Dr Malcolm Petyt.
He said: "The range of activities they are involved in and the extra expertise that they contribute is absolutely staggering."
Volunteers contributed 4,800 working days last year on jobs such as assessing the condition of public paths and leading guided walks.
The seven volunteers are Lynne Primmer, from Skipton, David Taylor, of Kirkby Stephen, Mike Richings, of Keighley, Robin Costello, of Otley, Eric Parkinson, of Bingley, Trevor Wilson, of Mirfield, and Chris Heald, of Skipton.
