TEESSIDE University is helping staff and business at Darlington’s Lingfield Point to develop their skills and to grow.

Lingfield Point is an award-winning space providing a home for companies including Capita, Student Loans Company, Darlington Borough Council, Four Seasons Health Care, NFU Mutual and NAAFI, to smaller fledgling ventures.

The university has been working with companies at Lingfield Point to improve their business offerings and with their employees to improve their skills, enhancing their career prospects.

Deputy vice-chancellor Professor Cliff Hardcastle met John Orchard, director of Lingfield Point’s owner Marchday, recently to celebrate this ongoing partnership.

Prof Hardcastle said: “Our programme of activities recognises and seeks to support the aspirations of the businesses while promoting the work-life balance which is very important at Lingfield Point.

“Nurturing entrepreneurship and inspiring success is at the heart of our mission as a leading, business-engaged university.”

Mr Orchard said: “Lingfield Point always likes to offer its customers that little bit extra and this partnership with Teesside University is an exceptional opportunity for people to continue their professional development or just to learn more about something they are interested in.

“It will help the businesses based here to broaden their skills base, help boost productivity, staff satisfaction and retention and, who knows, one day we could have the best educated business park in the UK.”
