A SPENNYMOOR man facing 20 charges, including burglary and assaulting the police, has been committed to Durham Crown Court to face trial.
Michael Thomas Collier, 33, of Moorside, appeared via videolink from Holme House Prison, in Stockton, at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates Court today. (Wednesday, April 3).
He faces six charges of theft, one of a house burglary, three burglaries from shops and one of making off without payment from a taxi in Bishop Auckland.
Mr Collier also faces charges of no insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and an assault on the police causing actual bodily harm.
He is also charged with failing to stop for the police, car theft, driving dangerously and two thefts from shops.
The offences span a period of between January 2 and February 15.
Mr Collier was remanded in custody to appear at the crown court on April 29.
