CHILDREN were able to get up close with baby farm animals as part of a family fun day at a pet store.
A double-decker bus packed full of hand-reared sheep, chickens and pigs, as well as lambs and chicks, allowed children and their parents to feed and hold the animals and learn about life on the farm.
The event at Discount Pet Store, in Lingfield Way, Darlington, also featured the Dogs Trust, Darlington, who were raising awareness about the number of dogs who need a home.
Store manager Laura Stockton said: “It’s been a great day and we’ve had a steady stream of people. The kids have gone wild with excitement but all the animals have been hand-reared so they are more than used to people.
“It’s a nice event for Easter and it’s been nice to see families having fun.”
