A PRIVATE company yesterday (Monday April 1) took over the operation of the leisure centres in the Redcar and Cleveland area.
Sports and Leisure Management, under its brand name Everyone Active, will run the facilities in Eston, Redcar, Saltburn, Loftus and Guisborough in partnership with Redcar & Cleveland Boroguh Council.
Over the next few weeks the leisure centres will see new group exercise timetables, the introduction of an award-winning swimming lesson programme and a £1.5m investment in leisure facilities across all five leisure centres.
The aim of Everyone Active is to help people achieve the government-recommended 30 minutes of activity, five times a week.
To help this happen there are tools available including results cards in the gym and at the poolside, one-to-one sessions and Everyone Active Online, a new internet tool to help track activity, progress and results.
