POLICE are investigating after a number of tractor batteries were stolen from premises in the Urpeth area of Stanley.

On March 14, three six-volt and ten 12-volt batteries were reported missing from the property in Stoney Lane where several tractors are under renovation.

Anyone with information about the theft is urged to contact police at Stanley via the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.

EYES DOWN: Prize bingo and afternoon tea sessions are held at Age UK County Durham’s Resource Centre in Betjeman Close, East Stanley on Wednesdays at 1.30pm.

IMPROVE SKILLS: A free course in improving customer service skills is being held by Derwentside CVS at Glenroyd House, Medomsley Road, Consett, on Wednesday April 17 from 9.30am–5pm.

EASTER FUN: Groundwork North East and Burnopfield Community Partnership are running two free Easter family activities on Thursday, April 4 and 11 at 2pm at Burnopfield Plantation.

Families are invited to come along and enjoy a range of Easter activities, including Easter crafts and an egg hunt.

People are asked to warm, old clothes and boots or wellies.

KEEP FIT: A gentle exercise class for older people is being held on Thursdays at 10am from April 18 at Citizens House, Station Yard, Consett.

COMMUNITY RUN: Stanley Run England holds group running sessions on Thursdays at 6pm at Oakey Park, Sunny Terrace, Stanley. The cost per session is £1.

GET CRAFTY: An indoor craft fair is being held at Glenroyd House, Meadomsly Road, Consett, on Easter Bank Holiday Monday from 11am-4pm.

There will be handcrafted goods, gifts, original art, Fairtrade clothing, fresh foods, alternative therapies, upcycling, demonstrations and stall from local businesses.
