A MAN has been charged with criminal damage following a stand-off with police that included armed response officers.
The 23-year-old, who remains in custody, was arrested after being holed up in his home in Wynrose Gardens, Stockton, for several hours.
Officers were called to the house, which is on the Wrensfield Estate, following reports of a “sensitive” incident.
Police say he was in a room with a pet snake, leading to the RSPCA being called.
A number of police cars and vans were at the scene including armed officers.
The incident started at 5am and concluded at about 11am on Saturday (March 30) morning.
