A GROUP of bikers brought a smile to faces of hundreds of people when they took part in a charity Easter egg give away.

Members of the Boundary 500 Motorcycle Group collected around 600 chocolate eggs and spent Saturday riding between different residential homes on Teesside handing out goodies.

This is the second annual senior day ride organised by the group, formed in 2006 by retired policeman Brian Laverick, which has raised more than £450,000 for the Great North Air Ambulance and Zoe’s Place Children’s Hospice.

Mr Laverick said: “In all we visited 28 residential homes and distributed approximately 600 eggs we had collected. This is the second time we have held Senior Day and it is really appreciated by both the staff and residents of the homes.

“It is so humbling when both residents and staff are so appreciative of the visits. Can I also thank the people of Cleveland for being so supportive and generous with their donations of eggs.”
