VISITORS have had the chance to learn about Japanese etiquette and the formalities of a tea ceremony at an event last week.
Coun Linda Marshall, chairman of Durham County Council, held a Japanese culture event at County Hall, in Durham.
It was held to mark links between the county and the far Eastern country, including the recent Hitachi investment at Newton Aycliffe and the council’s support for the Japanese Tsunami Disaster Fund, set up by former council chairman Coun Mac Williams.
Representatives from Japan Crafts UK and the North-East Japanese Women’s Association attended the event.
