NEW altar frontals and vestments have been dedicated at Durham Cathedral.

The items were designed by Tracey Franklin, a Durham City-based textile artist with a studio in Fowler’s Yard who is head of the Cathedral Broderers group.

They are made of unbleached linen, the traditional material for Lenten Array, and depict a crown of thorns and the grasses of the wilderness, both representing Jesus’ consecration and suffering and also renewal and forgiveness.
