USA brass band comes to Stockton

Brass band from USA comes to Stockton
A BRASS band with a difference is coming from the USA to the brass heartland of the region.
The Hot 8 Brass Band from America’s deep south will perform at The Arc in Stockton on Wednesday, February 27.
The band from New Orleans will play a different kind of music to that traditionally associated with mining communities across the north of England.
A spokesman for the band said: “The sounds of the USA’s industrial south and the Hot 8 Brass Band sit in perfect parallel with the sounds of the industrious north of England, adding a reputation for great brass bands to their similarities in terms of culture, music, history, and reputation for hard graft.”
The band cover contemporary music and released a version of The Specials’ Ghost Town following Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.
