A KEEN cyclist is offering a reward following the theft of his high-value mountain bikes.
Three machines, together worth £8,000, were taken when raiders targeted the man’s home at Fadmoor on the North York Moors and broke into an outbuilding.
The raid took place overnight between December 20 and 21 and the victim is now offering a reward of £800 for any information relating to the theft.
The bikes which were stolen are a Scott Spark 20, an Airborne Mosquito and a Specialized Rockhopper.
PC Andrew Pomfret said: “If anyone saw any suspicious activity in the area at the time of the burglary, I urge them to get in touch with the police or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.
“The victim is understandably keen to have his bikes returned to him and is even prepared to offer a reward for the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible.
“Any information could be vital to the investigation and I would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered these bikes for sale.”
Contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option two and ask for Andrew Pomfret or Malton police. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800-555111.
