Art show celebrates Chinese New Year

FAR East-style art by North-East painters will go on display to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

The collective exhibition, including works by artists from Xi’an, in China, and members of the Northern and Yorkshire groups of the Chinese Brush Painters’ Society, will be displayed at the North East Chinese Association, on Stowell Street, Newcastle, from February 1 to 10.

The exhibition, featuring more than 100 paintings, will be open daily from 10.30am to 5.30pm. Entry is free. For more information, call 07769-174037.

The Chinese New Year will herald the Year of the Snake.
