A NEW youth theatre that aims to boost the confidence of young people is to hold a trial day later this month.
Identity Youth Theatre, based at St Cuthbert’s church hall, in Market Place, Darlington, will hold its first session on Saturday, January 26, for a £5 trial price, before starting regular term time sessions each Saturday morning.
Classes are broken down into age groups: Spotlights, for ages five to seven, between 9.20am and 10.20am; Limelights, ages eight to 11, who meet between 10.40am and 12.10pm, and Footlights, for ages 12 to 18, at 12.30pm to 2pm.
Director Jo Ebberley said: “Our friendly sessions will build upon the skills, interests, and talents of every individual member.
“It’s always daunting coming along to something new but why not try a trial session to see whether Identity Youth Theatre is for you? Good theatre is about cooperation, not competition, so whether you’re shy, quirky, or confident, a would-be star of the future, or just looking for something fun to do on the weekend, come along and have a go.”
Places must be booked in advance. For more information go to identitytheatre.co.uk, call Ms Ebberley on 07891-209793 or email enquiries@identitytheatre.co.uk
