THREE people, including a 76-year-old, have been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a man was discovered by police.
Police officers attended an address in Elswick, Newcastle, yesterday (Saturday, December 1) afternoon after they received a report of concern for a man.
There, officers from Northumbria Police discovered the body of a man believed to be in his 60s.
As a result three people, a 43-year-old woman and two men aged 53 and 76, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are in custody.
The cause of death has yet to be established and a Home Office post-mortem examination is due to be carried out this evening.
An investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances of the death and police are appealing for information about the incident. The number to call is 101.
