A DIRECTOR is releasing a film to highlight the cruel world of dog fighting.
Director Mike Tweddle, from Stapleton, near Darlington, has shot Damaged Goods, which follows the lives of a brother and sister when they find a badly injured dog.
They nurse it back to health, but soon find out the animal was previously involved in dog fighting and struggle to stop it from returning to its violent past.

Mr Tweddle has written numerous screenplays for other films as well as making a film about the world's first black professional footballer, Arthur Wharton, who played for Darlington Football Club.
