As part of our Foundation for Jobs campaign, this column is devoted to a young person so they can issue a 'give-me-a-break' call to potential employers.
Name: Anthony Murphy Age: 16 From: Originally from Middlesbrough but now living in Darlington (RED HAIR AND Looking for: A part-time job He wants to be a paramedic and is getting the foundations laid by studying a L2 in public services at Darlington College. After completing his course he then plans to study on a Level 3 Health & Social Care course so he can enter the paramedics.
“It’s a great career because I want to serve the community and help people. It’s something I have always wanted to do,” he said.
He studied at Ormesby Comprehensive in Middlesbrough and would love to get a part-time job. His strength he says is good communications skills. He is a reliable worker and not afraid of hard graft. He plays football for Newton Aycliffe Juniors and is enjoying the friendship and support at Darlington College. “My course is great, the tutors really know what they are talking about and it’s great start to get me in to the career I have chosen,”
