A DARLINGTON foster carer has received recognition for her ten years of service.
Deb Blewitt, 52, who works with Foster Care Associates (FCA), was presented with her award at an event celebrating the hard work, dedication and achievements of foster carers and young people in care.
She said: “I truly enjoy fostering, it’s hugely rewarding.
“I’ve worked with young people my whole life; as a youth club leader, then a child minder. I’ve gained valuable experience from these roles and applied them to fostering.
"Fostering can be challenging, but noticing positive changes is incredibly rewarding. Through patience and stability they develop life skills ready for independence.”
