The photograph on the right shows Hunwick WMC celebrating their treble-winning season in 1950.
The County Shield, middle, was won by the team six years running and on either side of that, is the District Cup and the County Cup.
That same season, Hunwick were selected to represent England in the National Shield, held in Doncaster, which they also went on to win, beating King’s Cross in the final.
A year later, they returned to defend the National Shield and almost made it back-toback wins, but were eventually beaten by Sheffield in the final, finishing runners-up.
Tom Ward is the current secretary at Hunwick WMC.
He was part of the Fifties team, but wasn’t in the picture due to being away when it was taken.
The County Shield is still hanging in the club, after it won the right to keep it after winning it for three consecutive years in 1950.
