Bloodsports

FOUR men were recently convicted, quite rightly, for badger baiting.

Can anyone who is in favour of the return of hunting with dogs please explain to me why is two bull terriers tearing a pregnant badger apart barbaric and abhorrent, and a pack of beagles tearing a fox apart sport? What is the difference?

There is no difference. Both are disgusting practices carried out by sub human rubbish. There is no place for either in a civilised country. Further there is no possible justification for these or any other activities which involve the hunting and destruction of wild animals.

The chance of a beagle catching a fox vary between slim and none. A foxhound however, which outweighs the fox by a factor of about 5, kills in one hit. The rest of the pack will then try and get in.
The whole question of hunting has been done to death, the last lot in government spent more parliamentary time on it than on the economy. Just think, it they had gone the other way around, they might still be in power, there might still be jobs to be had and money to spend, and a few foxes might be dead. Sounds like a good swap to me
